Detailed Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Submerge the shrimp in a non-reactive container using lime juice to cure them; wait about 10 minutes until they become pink and firm.

  2. 2

In a separate non-reactive mixing bowl, mix the avocado, tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, and celery.

  3. 3

Extract the shrimp from the citrus liquid, but save the liquid. Chop the shrimp into small pieces and combine with the vegetables, then stir in the saved lime juice and cilantro, seasoning the mix with pepper and salt.

I have prepared this previously and loved it! I returned to find the instructions again because I am making it for a second time this week. Thank you for posting!

Fantastic! A nearby market seems to have copied this version, so I hunted for a familiar-sounding recipe and this one matches the result I got perfectly. Regarding the yield info: it would be helpful if the nutritional data included specific serving sizes, as “per serving” measurements based on volume can be inconsistent. I used a 1/2-cup portion, but weight-based measurements would be more precise.
