Toasted Garlic Bread
This garlic toast recipe is quick to make and scrumptious to eat! It will complement any Italian meal. Melted mozzarella is optional but delicious.

Ingredients
- *1 (1 pound) loaf Italian bread
- *5 tablespoons butter, softened
- *3 cloves garlic, crushed
- *2 teaspoons extra virgin olive oil
- *1 teaspoon dried oregano
- *salt and pepper to taste
- *1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
Step 1
Prepare all the necessary components.
Step 2
Position an oven rack roughly 6 inches away from the heat and turn on the broiler. Slice the loaf into ten pieces, each 1 inch thick.
Step 3
Combine the butter, garlic, oil, oregano, salt, and pepper in a mixing container; apply the mixture to one face of every bread slice; lay the slices butter-side up in a single layer on a baking tray.
Step 4
Toast under the broiler until lightly browned, monitoring closely to prevent burning, for about 3 minutes.
Step 5
Add cheese to the slices and return them to the broiler until the cheese is browned and melted, approximately 2 minutes.
Step 6
Serve while hot.
