First Baby Food: Peas
Peas make a great first baby food. This is an easy recipe that's great for busy moms and dads to make ahead and freeze. This can be used with other first foods for your baby. Apples or pears are fun or even green beans. Make sure it is mild enough for your baby's developing digestive system.

Ingredients
- *3 cups frozen peas
- *½ cup breast milk
Directions
Step 1
Set a steamer basket inside a pot and pour in water until it reaches just beneath the basket's base. Heat the water until it boils. Incorporate the peas, put the lid on, and cook via steam for roughly 15 minutes or until they reach a soft texture.
Step 2
Combine the breast milk and peas inside a food processor or blender, then process the mixture until it becomes smooth. Pass the contents through a fine-mesh strainer to get rid of any remaining chunks.
Step 3
Distribute the pea purée into the compartments of an ice cube tray, seal with cling film, and freeze for 2 to 3 hours until completely set. Move the solid cubes into a sealable freezer bag for long-term storage.
Step 4
When ready to feed, warm the cubes in a microwave for approximately half a minute until they reach a safe, lukewarm temperature. Mix well before serving.
