Cocktail Meatballs

These tasty cocktail meatballs will disappear quickly at your holiday party. My mom makes them every year for New Year's Eve, and now so do I. These do very well in a slow cooker, as you can simmer them before serving and keep them hot for the duration of your party.

Ingredients

  • *1 pound lean ground beef
  • *½ cup bread crumbs
  • *3 tablespoons minced onion
  • *2 tablespoons water
  • *1 large egg
  • *1 (8 ounce) can jellied cranberry sauce
  • *¾ cup chili sauce
  • *1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • *1 ½ teaspoons lemon juice

Directions

Step 1

Collect all necessary components. Set your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Step 2

Combine the onion, egg, bread crumbs, ground beef, and water in a large mixing bowl. Shape the mixture into small spheres and place them on a baking tray that doesn't stick. Roast them in the preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, making sure to flip them halfway through.

Step 3

In a large pot over low heat, whisk together the lemon juice, chili sauce, brown sugar, and cranberry sauce until the mixture is uniform. Toss in the meatballs and let them simmer for an hour before serving.
