Ingredients
- *1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, at room temperature
- *1 pound lean ground beef
- *1 cup water
- *1 (1 ounce) package taco seasoning mix
- *1 ½ cups salsa
- *1 ½ cups shredded Cheddar cheese
Directions
Step 1
Set your oven to warm up to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Step 2
Use a spatula to spread the cream cheese across the bottom of an 8x8-inch baking pan in a uniform layer.
Step 3
Sauté the ground beef in a large frying pan over medium-high heat until it is browned, broken into small pieces, and fully cooked, which should take roughly 5 to 10 minutes. Mix in the taco seasoning and water, then let it simmer for 3 to 5 minutes until most of the liquid has disappeared.
Step 4
Layer the seasoned beef over the cream cheese base, cover it with a layer of salsa, and finish with a dusting of Cheddar cheese.
Step 5
Bake the dish inside the heated oven for around 20 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and the mixture is bubbling.
