Combine the Neufchatel, mayonnaise, Parmesan, Romano, garlic, basil, salt, and pepper within a mixing bowl. Carefully fold in the spinach and artichoke hearts.
Cream cheese is a fine substitute, and sour cream works instead of mayonnaise. It fits perfectly in a 10-inch square baking dish.
This turned out incredible and guests were eager for the recipe. I prepared a double batch and it worked perfectly. Since I lacked Romano, I stuck with Parmesan alone. I minced a big garlic clove and added some hot sauce for heat. Served with baguette crostini, plain pita chips, and carrot sticks. I bet this would be great on a bagel—truly a fantastic recipe!
